Fueled by Insanity 0.06 Update
Hi! Update 0.06 is out, which starts off Day 6 of the Accept route.
This update was confusing to write due to all the dialogue branches based on previous choices (such as who you texted on Night 5, if you chose to text anyone), but it was also fun getting to a point where the story has become much less linear. A single playthrough will likely feel much shorter for this update, though I'm happy if it means that the player's choices have more meaning.
I keep having a bad habit of underestimating how long certain scenes will take to write, so one of the paths on this update does not extend as far as the other due to time constraints. It also didn't help that I had to completely scrap the original version of one of the scenes in this update because it wasn't working out at all and felt forced. I am glad that I did rewrite it, because the new scene turned out a lot better. I considered delaying the build so I could get both branches to the same point, but decided it would be better to release what I have now and then finish that path later.
Other things added in this update are one new music track, a few new expressions for Ted, and some expressions for some of the other characters.
I'd like to thank Coza as usual for her artwork contributions, and Melo for proofreading and catching mistakes. I'd also like to thank everyone else who gave me permission to do a certain thing (being vague is fun, and I don't want to spoil it).
I am trying to make it a priority to write more music, because I feel like right now, the soundtrack is too small. Unfortunately, most of the tracks I worked on this month are ones that won't appear until later in the story. I did learn that I should probably avoid writing songs in certain keys for now, because the chord progression in the new track hurt to play when I was practicing and figuring things out. Oh well, you live and learn! My wrists are doing way better now, though they're still not 100%, so I'm trying not to overdo it.
Anyways, I hope you all enjoy! Let me know if you find any issues with this update, and I'll try to fix them ASAP.
I think maybe I should go back to sleep. I messed up typing out the file names while uploading 3 times.Files

From the fact you called it the 'accept route', would it be safe to assume that we won't be getting more character focused routes (i.e. a Ted route) and instead the decisions we make around those characters will affect uor future choices/their responses to said choices?
Sorry for the super late response.
I probably made a mistake in calling it a route rather than a path. The way I'm planning on it working is that choosing to accept or reject the offer will be a main split in the story. From there, the story will branch off further into routes depending on which characters you choose to spend time with.
It's okay, health can be a bitch and this really wasn't some kind of burning question I needed answered right away.
So if I'm understanding what you're saying correctly, our routes will look a little something like this; Ted (accept), Ted (reject), Darren (accept), Darren (reject), etc...
I'm basically just trying to plan out how I'm going to organise my saves in this VN (Each character gets a page vs accept route on top row/reject route on bottom row) since otherwise it can become a real pain in the arse to remember which route I was on in each save.
Yeah, that's basically how it'll go. I don't have specifics worked out for each individual character yet, but at least Ted, Daren, Tracy, Marshall, and Sean will have a route in both paths.
I'm glad you've got your save files organized better than I do, since mine are a mess at the moment from having to go back constantly to test stuff.
Thanks for the update! Very glad your wrist is doing better too!
