I'm still here and writing!
Hiya. I wanted to let you all know what's going on again cause I'd feel bad if I sat in silence without giving updates and stuff.
I'll start by saying that this upcoming build is sitting at 6k words at the moment, so it's at least halfway done and the rest should be much quicker to write now. Progress hasn't been as quick as I'd like due to life situations and me not being in the best headspace for a while. On top of that, I wasn't happy with the direction some of these routes I'm working on were going. I've had a rough outline for each of these routes but ran into issues while working on Sean's route. I have several events and scenes I want to have happen but was struggling to figure out how to put it all together in a way that flows together naturally. So, I went in and drafted a new, more detailed outline for each of the routes, that way I've got everything pretty much set in stone for how it'll all go. The previous update had issues because my planning wasn't that great going into it, so I'm looking to avoid a situation like that again.
Working on the new outline has been time consuming but is making a world of difference. Most of the anxiety I've had is gone now that I've got a better idea of how everything will fit together. It's still a work in progress, however. Tracy's route is the only one I have 100% planned and am fully happy with. Some of the other routes, namely Ted's and Daren's, I was nervous about originally because I wasn't sure how all I could differentiate them from their accept path counterparts. I've got ideas and plans for that now and am really looking forward to when I get to those routes. Though, I still haven't quite worked out each ending for them yet (yes there will be multiple endings for each of these routes too. Someone save me from my poor life choices).
As far as stuff for this update goes though: art resources have been slow to come in since Sarah's working a new job and has less available time. I've not worked on any new music yet since doing so isn't that great on my wrists. I do plan to add one or two new tracks, however. The writing thus far for this route is currently up to halfway through Day 6. I'm wanting to get through early Day 7 before releasing this upcoming update because I feel like that would be a fun place to leave off... :D
Oh, and as a last thing! I do read every comment and love hearing feedback and how you enjoyed, or even didn't enjoy parts of the vn. I may not always reply (cause anxiety sucks) but I do like hearing it!

Poor Life Choices... this VN in a nutshell right? Still there always has to be a sliver lining somewhere!
I can definitely relate on that anxiety front. But I'm really glad we get these updates! I don't really expect them, but they're nice to see that you're alive and the project isn't dead. Not to say I thought this one was! I know anxiety can play some stupid mind games and I just wanted to express my appreciation for your update. I do hope things clear up a little bit for you headspace-wise. Anyway, hopefully the writing process treats you well in the coming days. I look forward to the next update when it drops!
Oh my god I FEEL the pain of outlining a story and UNDERSTAND the joy of having something you like again set out in front of you. The story I'm writing has had 4 (four) rewrites of its outline and I wouldn't have it any other way—they make it so much better
