(Oh my god my browser refreshed and deleted the devlog right as I was about to post it so I'm having to do it all over again ahhhhhhhhhhhh)
I didn't have time to do anything for April Fool's, but I still wanted to post at least something, so have a mishmash of a bunch of different things instead! Think of it like as a continuation of the devlog I posted two years ago. This one. https://xarishro.itch.io/fueled-by-insanity/devlog/237910/this-is-a-devlog
So first off! I have either the worst or best timing to take screenshots whenever Sarah is streaming art for me.
Somehow Discord's stream quality badly messed up the color of Benji's fur. Best part is it was only the fur that got messed up for some reason.
Taking screenshots while Sarah's in the middle of working on eyes and moving stuff around and lead to some goofy results. At one point, Blake's sprite rework made him look like a cat. I considered changing his species to one because it sounded interesting to me, but Sarah kept me on track and so he's still a chinchilla. Looking back at some of the descriptions I gave for characters when they were being worked on has been fun. I don't remember typing this at all but it is true! (Sorry) Apparently Caleb was meant to be muscular. Somehow that must've been forgotten when his sprite was being worked on. oops And of course, this accurate description of Parker. Have you ever wanted to see data with all the characters lined up? No? Oh... well this is awkward. Here, have them anyway! Newest to Oldest sprites. Their dates completed are listed too. And then Youngest to Oldest Lastly, characters from bottom to top leanin- wait why is this here? ... And why are they listed as if they're fighting game character matchup ratios? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway. Have a few other random things! Jeffrey in the Backrooms, because I'm hilarious. Reviving this ancient meme. Some characters as if they were old jrpg portraits. Now for something completely different Did you know I had two VNs I worked on before Fueled by Insanity? Neither of them got very far, but I did learn a lot from both! The first one was called The Usual Spot. It was a prequel to FbI in which you played as a rabbit named Adrian. The VN only had two builds, and feedback was all either neutral or negative. The writing was not very good at all and I had no idea how to transition from one scene to another. On top of that, I was unable to find an artist. There were a couple I wanted to commission, but those didn't end up working out. Because of that, I had to try drawing the character sprites myself, and I'm not an artist at all. I didn't have any idea what I was doing, but they were designed just to be placeholders until I could finally get an artist onboard. In the end, I wound up scrapping the project, though I did reuse a lot of the assets for Fueled by Insanity. Here's what my sprites looked like. They're all just... staring at you. It didn't help that I didn't have a drawing tablet or anything like that. Instead I just had to draw using pencil and paper. Then afterwards, I used Paint.NET to trace them using a laptop trackpad and the bendy line tool. This is one of the penil drawings. The second VN I worked on never got a name and didn't get nearly as far. It was a comedy about an MMO with absolutely terrible devs. Servers would lock people out of logging in constantly. Only one player was able to make a healer character before that class got disabled. Therefore, he was the only healer in the entire game. In the end, I scrapped it because art assets were going to be too expensive. I would need custom backgrounds that actually looked like they were from an MMO. I would need sprites of different weapons and equipment, especially as characters would change what they had on, etc. The player character was a rabbit and the other main characters were a fox, chinchilla, cheetah, and some kinda scalie. This is when I picked up Sarah as an artist, and she did a sketch of all the characters. Only the rabbit ever got a finished sprite. That's all I have to show from stuff Sarah and I have done, which means there's one thing left to showcase. This is all the fanart that has been shown to me over the past two years. Receiving fanart is always such an awesome feeling <3Caution: Some of these may contain SPOILERS or NSFW Jeffrey and Ted by Zephyr Jeffrey and Ted bead art by Rov Jeffrey by Sarah (yes she did fanart of her own art)https://twitter.com/_SarahSky/status/1483588980482392070 Jeffrey plush by my sister-in-law Caijoru, Jeffrey, and Ted by Uninihttps://twitter.com/RAwober/status/1405203574355763202 Jeffrey and Ted by Uninihttps://twitter.com/RAwober/status/1524770703693602819 Caijoru Trade Offer by Unini (same link as above)https://twitter.com/RAwober/status/1524770703693602819 Caleb and foxes by Uninihttps://twitter.com/RAwober/status/1585724448661204997 Daren by HopelessHighSchool (I had to censor it to be able to post it here pft)https://twitter.com/hhsyan/status/1511451935962017792 Daren and Jeffrey by HopelessHighSchoolhttps://twitter.com/hhsyan/status/1524096162743078912 Jeffrey and Daren by HopelessHighSchoolhttps://twitter.com/hhsyan/status/1610789201812897792

Even through it's just a devlog this is the most detailed devlog about a small project what I ever seen
I quite feel like it is going to be a well developed update, don't rush it :)
